Amy Groves is a business owner who’s spent most of her adult life working in the real world, signing the front of paychecks, dealing with regulations, and helping Nevada families build financial security through homeownership.
For nearly two decades, Amy has run Nevada’s Finest Properties, a Las Vegas-based real estate brokerage she founded in 2006.
As president and managing broker, she’s helped hundreds of families buy, sell, and manage homes across Southern Nevada.
Her company also manages rental properties, giving her a front-row seat to the challenges Nevada homeowners, renters, and small property owners face every day.
Running a business means making payroll, managing employees, and navigating government rules that often make it harder to grow and create jobs. Amy typically employs several staff members and works with independent Realtors across the valley.
That real-world experience shapes how she thinks about government: when politicians in Carson City pass new taxes, fees, and regulations, it’s small businesses and working families who get hurt.
Amy understands that firsthand because she lives it.
Her entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond Nevada as well. Amy and her husband Mike built a small hospitality business in Sturgis, South Dakota, home of the world-famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
What started as a simple military veterans-themed tavern/ice cream shop quickly became a popular rally stop for thousands of visitors each year.
The couple also manages short-term lodging properties near Main Street during the rally, turning their passion for the event into another successful small business.
It’s the kind of hands-on entrepreneurship that many politicians talk about, but few have actually done.
Amy’s interest in public service grew out of frustration with policies that make life harder for working Nevadans.
She’s been a longtime member of the Clark County Republican Central Committee, and previously ran for the Nevada Assembly as a low-tax, limited-government conservative, speaking out strongly against the massive 2015 tax package and the Commerce Tax that hit Nevada businesses.
She signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, committing in writing to oppose new taxes, and proudly describes herself as a “Ronald Reagan Republican.”
Her message has always been simple: government should live within its means, respect individual freedom, and stop making it harder for people to succeed.
Amy has also been outspoken about the importance of real private-sector experience in government.
Unlike many politicians, she understands the consequences of policy decisions because she deals with them every day as a business owner who hires Nevadans and pays substantial taxes at the local, state, and federal levels.
On the personal side, Amy is married to Mike Groves, a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Sergeant Major, whose decades of service shaped their strong belief in freedom, personal responsibility, and love of country.
Friends describe Amy as straightforward, hardworking, and the kind of person who doesn’t back down when she believes something is right.
That’s exactly the kind of voice voters want representing them in Carson City.
Because when someone who’s actually built businesses, managed employees, and worked in the private sector helps write the laws, those laws are far more likely to work for the people who have to live under them.
That’s what Amy Groves brings to the table.
