The reason I’m running again for Assembly District 19 is just this simple…
It’s not enough to simply elect more Republicans to the Legislature.
We need to elect BETTER ones, as well.
When you have Republicans voting for tax hikes and the “Hollywood Handout,” well…Houston, we have a problem.
Our former assemblyman, Toby Yurek, voted to raise your gas tax hike (AB530), as well as your property taxes (SB451), in the 2025 legislative session - even though he ran as a “conservative” against me in 2022.
In that race, I signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge promising you that I would “oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes."

Toby refused to sign it. And now we know why.
As the saying goes: Don’t listen to what they say, watch what they do.
After the 2025 session, Toby bailed on us. He resigned shortly after the legislative session ended and before the Special Session was called in November.
In his place, the Democrat-controlled Clark County Commission appointed a government lawyer and political insider, Jason Patchett, to represent us in AD19.
And Mr. Patchett’s first major vote was FOR the Hollywood Handout!
That bill – which fortunately was killed in the State Senate – would have given Hollywood film studios millions of dollars in tax credits that eventually would have led to higher taxes for the rest of us.
Mr. Patchett’s now running – with Mr. Yurek’s endorsement – for a full term. And, like Mr. Yurek, he’s refused to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
Uh-oh. We’ve seen that movie before!
There’s a term for Republicans like Mr. Yurek and Mr. Patchett who raise taxes and betray other conservative principles: RINO – which stands for “Republican In Name Only.”
You know who WASN’T a RINO?
Our former Assemblywoman Annie Black.
When Annie represented us in the Assembly during the “COVID” session in 2021 – after ousting another RINO, Chris Edwards, in 2020 - she stuck by her conservative principles even under extreme pressure by the political establishment and Carson City lobbyists.
She proved that even when Republicans are in the minority, one person with a little backbone can still stand up, speak out, and fight for the people they represent.
Annie didn’t go along to get along.
She kept her word to those of us she represented and earned the #1 conservative rating for the 2021 legislative session.
Well, I’m a proud “Annie Black Republican”!
And I’m even more proud to have Annie’s the endorsement in this year’s Republican primary for AD19 in June.
Annie showed that leadership matters. She’s an inspiration to all of us.
And I intend to follow her example. If elected, I will fight for…
• Lower taxes and responsible government spending
• Strong support for small businesses and job creators
• Law enforcement and safe communities
• The Second Amendment and the right to self-defense
• School choice and parents’ rights in education
• Secure elections and the rule of law
• Energy independence and affordable fuel
• Protecting women’s sports and fairness in athletics
And yes, I’ve again signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
But this campaign isn’t just about policies. It’s about real-world experience.
So let me share a little about myself so you know what you’re getting if you elect me to represent you in June.
I’m a business owner who signs the front of checks. When the economy gets tough, I know what it feels like to worry about making payroll.
That experience shapes how I think about taxes, regulations, and government mandates.
I’m also the proud wife of retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major Mike Groves of the 5th Special Forces Group.
Our military families sacrifice a great deal to protect our freedoms, and they deserve leaders who will defend those freedoms here at home.
Outside of politics, I’m what some people jokingly call a “biker chick.”
I’ve been riding to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota for nearly twenty years. My ride of choice is a Harley Freewheeler.
My husband and I loved the Sturgis community so much that we got married there - and have since opened a military-themed tavern/ice cream shop right on Main Street.
Those experiences reflect something important about who I am. I believe in freedom, hard work, and the kind of American spirit that built this country.
By contrast, Mr. Patchett is a former government lawyer for Clark County. A true political “insider.”
But get this…
He left his job with the county after being appointed because there’s a law against certain government employees also serving in the Legislature.
And where does he work now?
For Mr. Yurek’s law firm!
This is nothing short of Chicago-style “patronage.”
Talk about “you-scratch-my-back-and-I’ll-scratch-yours.”
And you can bet Mr. Patchett will vote just like Mr. Yurek. In fact, he already has by voting for the Hollywood Handout.
District 19 is a strong Republican district.
The voters here deserve a representative who will stand firmly for conservative values and not fold under pressure from political insiders, lobbyists, or party leaders.
You and I have been burned too often by Republicans who campaign as conservatives but vote like Democrats once they get to Carson City.
Well, that won’t be me.
I’ll speak up. I’ll stand firm. And I’ll fight for you and the freedoms that make Nevada a great place to live – just like Annie did.
So I’m asking for your vote. And together we’ll continue fighting against Democrat (and RINO!) efforts to turn Nevada into “East California.”
